The Han River Literary Festival 2011 is one part of the Han River Renaissance Project, which aims to transform the Han River into a living space, as well as a cultural arts area comfortable to citizens, all in celebration of the “World of Water.”
This event was held to create a literary festival scene where art and recreation could hold hands, where new powers of imagination and stories could be refined, stored, and flow at Seonyudo Hangang Park, a park that was originally a filtration plant but recycled into a park. The Foundation and the Seoul Metropolitan Government’s Hangang Project Headquarters co-hosted this festival, and the festival opened for two days on October 8 and October 9 at Seonyudo Hangang Park embracing the theme, “Seonyudo, Singing for Literature.” The main programs included the opening ceremony, a “Poetry-Music Concert,” playing movies based on literature, a “Literary Walk with Writers,” “The Han River Literary Awards,” and a “Literary Art Exhibition” among others.
