East Asia Forum for Literature

OVERVIEW

Introduction of Business
This forum is an opportunity to discuss the common values of East Asian countries, to discuss cultural sympathy and a vision of peace for the future, as well as actively promote literary exchange which remains the crux of culture and arts. Korea, Japan, and China will take turns hosting the forum every two years. In 2008, the forum, ¡°Destiny of Contemporary Society and Literature- East Asia and the Outside World,¡± opened in Seoul and prominent writers from Korea, Japan, and China participated in the forum, including Sokyong Hwang, Junghee Oh, Shimada Masahiko, Hirano Keiichiro, Mo Yan, and Tie Ning among others. The second forum opened in Japan in 2010. The third forum will opening in China in 2014.
